Date Listed: 04/07/2008 SACA JOB ADVERTISEMENT SENIOR POSITION WITH SPORT PLAYERS’ ASSOCIATION The South African Cricketers’ Association (SACA), the representative body of South Africa’s professional cricketers, seeks applications for appointment to a senior position within the organisation to run one of its divisions. The following criteria will count in favour of an applicant: · five or more years of work experience in business or in the legal or accounting profession; · sound knowledge of, and passion, for cricket; · cricket playing experience at club, provincial or national level; · experience in legal practice; · knowledge of, and experience in, the business of sport and sports rights; · strong management and communication skills; · ability to work in a team; · willingness to work long hours; · ability to deal with the media; · high ethical standards and sound understanding of good corporate governance. The position will be based in Cape Town but the successful applicant will be required to travel, both within South Africa and internationally. The remuneration package is negotiable. The preferred commencement date is 1 September 2008, but this is negotiable.
