Let me start by saying I have a wonderful and mostly well behaved 5 yr old boy (a little cheeky at times and has selective hearing).
I am a single father, separated from his mother but looking for live in help. I look after him most of the time. I am in the Army and so often have plenty of time to be around but then will be absent for periods of weeks. We live in a house close to Marion in Adelaide which has a spare room and plenty of space for three. As you can tell, this is more than the average nanny position as there will be times when you have sole responsibility. For this reason, I am looking for someone 28 yrs + with experience and police checks.
The job will entail general around the house duties (I am very tidy, he is not!), getting him ready for and taking him to school and picking up again (in the centre of town), looking after him on school holidays and if he is off sick and 24 hour care as required if I am away.
The benefits are free accommodation and run of the house. What you do in your time is up to you, as long as you can be free for holidays and if he is sick at all. We can discuss pay; generally you would be working 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon, one 24 hour period a month and every other weekend babysitting one night so I can have a life too !! If I am away, you will have sole custody with all the ups and downs lol.
You must be flexible, I may be late and things happen. It is not unusual to receive a phone call saying I am running late with work. We are looking for someone to be a massive part of our lives, to be there when needed and without question at times.
Due to location, it is best if you can drive and if you have a car, even better! The position will be for an initial 12 months. If things work out you would then move to another location within Australia with me.
