EMPLOYMENT HISTORY / EXPERIENCE
(Sept 2007 – August 2009) Daisy Communications Ltd - Telecoms
I worked in the Repair Team and grew with the company until the time I left for my travels in Australia. I left on good terms with the company and was offered a position in the company upon my return to the UK. During my time there I:
· Dealt with customer issues on their voice/broadband services provided by our company and took the necessary action to resolve these issues. I had to build up knowledge of the telecommunications industry and determine the best possible solution to keep downtime of services to a minimum.
· Was assigned as a designated contact for the companies A-list customer base and built up a rapport with them and helped them with any repair based problems.
· Was promoted to team leader of the repair team and supervised a team of 8 people and involved actively in reporting to senior management with performance figures for the month.
· Analyzed our internal system and provided feedback to senior management with suggested improvements to aid day to day tasks of staff. This is the role I was promoted to after being at the company for roughly a year.
· Participated in meetings with senior management and suppliers to look at ways of improving the way we provide customer services to our customers.
· Was involved in welcoming acquired customer bases to the company and helping to iron out any issues they may have due to the change over of service providers.
(Nov 2005 – March 2007) Gap.
I decided after becoming unemployed that I wanted to enjoy my time for a while. I had savings from the previous 2 jobs and wasn’t much of a spender so have done some travelling – Greece at first and later around the UK.
From Nov 2006 to March 2007 I was involved in helping my brother with his new transport business. My task was to set up a computer system for him to replace his paper based system and input all of this data into the system I created.
(AUG 2005 – OCT 2005) HILLE Seating Limited.
I worked in the Purchasing Department and was being trained in Computer Aided Design. Unfortunately the company suffered a set-back so my position was forfeit due to a lack of business. During my time there I:
- Analysed Drawings passed on by the C.A.D team and calculated the raw material usage/shortage from them.
- Obtained quotes/promises on any shortages from suppliers and sought alternative quotes if the price/promises were not satisfactory.
- Contacted suppliers and pushed them to ensure all orders were received on the days I required them.
(Feb 2003 - Dec 2004) Automotive Applied Technologies Ltd.
I started this job as a Modern Apprentice in the Logistics/Planning Office; I was fully employed by the company 3 months later. During my time there I:
- Provided customer service for clients such as Jaguar, Rover, Nissan, and BMW and tried to resolve any problems they may have.
- Received and Analysed order schedules placed by the above customers then made agreements/delivery promises.
- Filtered the above information into company documents to calculate the required raw material quantities against our stock.
- Monitored stock being produced on the shop floor to ensure customer deadlines were met.
- Communicated any technical issues we were having which could jeopardise a customers production plan.
- Created ‘easy to follow’ user guides for various company processes which would be useful for training people.
EDUCATION
Blackburn College (Sept 2001 – Jan 2003)
Mount Carmel R.C. High School (Sept 1996 – June 2001)
OTHER SKILLS
- I believe myself to be a fast learner and more than capable of teaching others how to perform a specific task in a way that they will understand.
- I am keen to acquire new skills.
- I always try to be organised and plan the order I carry out my tasks, this helps to ensure I do not forget anything and use my time efficiently.
- I endeavour to meet deadlines.
- I can type fast and accurately.
- Good problem solver.
- Have a good eye for detail.
