Open Garden Scheme, Mylor
The garden of Jane and Christo Juttner, “CASUARINA”, will be open on 31st Oct-1st Nov, 10am-4.30pm, as part of the Australian Open Garden Scheme.
The garden is 15 years old, and is now looking mature. It is a garden with an eye to shape and form, and colour. This spring opening promises, with all its rain, a profusion of wonderful flowers and lush exuberance. It is nonetheless a low-water use garden, and has been planted with hardy, drought-tolerant plants, that manage through the summer with only fortnightly dripper watering.
There are vegetable gardens and fruit trees, and trellises of berries.
There are sculptures and installations, gentle views, and lovely contours.
Entrance is $6 for adults. The gate takings go to the Mylor Red Cross. They will also be providing fine fare—teas, coffees, sandwiches, cakes, and a sausage sizzle. They will have plants for sale too.
Address: ‘Casuarina’ Sheoak Rd, Mylor.
