Howdy - I’m looking to buy those older Motocross bikes or parts that are sitting down the side of the garage or in the shed, even with chicken’s roosting on it, to support vintage racing at our club.
Easily to recognise as they will usually have twin shocks (springs) on the rear but monosock ok, and maybe a metal or plastic tank.
These 1970’s Models where sold by the 10’s of thousands, they’re out there rusting away quietly in sheds as we speak. But we need them to keep our ‘Mud and Tars’ Clubs vintage racing scene going.
I’d like to find the one you have, your uncle has, or that Crazy old guy down the road who has one as a pot plant in his garden. Just Look over the neighbours fence ? In old farm sheds. Just Everywhere !
I’m happy to pay for the right bike, but ill look at anything that fits my description even if its rusty and stopped, will also pay you for an introduction or lead on one that we end up buying. Prity Easy Huh !
Names, Model or Identifiers to look out for painted on tanks or on side covers may include words like YAMAHA, Honda, Suzuki, MX, YZ, 250, 360, Elsinore, Jawa, Maico, Motesa, Bultaco etc.
Will look at Anything, even frames, motors or parts for same. Usually easy to check, they will have stamped prefix numbers on them like 363, 364, 365, 431, 432, 438, 450, TM250, etc somewhere.
Basically if it looks Old has TWO shockers and knobbly tyres, just Call me :O)
